About AMF
Declaration
Asia Marketing Federation (AMF) is the new name of the Asia Pacific Marketing Federation (APMF). The new name was declared on 6 August 2007 in Jakarta following the conclusion of the APMF Board of Management meeting.
As indicated in the minutes, the meeting has:
- Approved the change of name of the association from Asia Pacific Marketing Federation (APMF) to Asia Marketing Federation with abbreviation AMF;
- Approved the proposed Charter of AMF;
- Approve the new logo of AMF; and
- Approved the appointment of Professor Philips Kotler as Honorary Patron and Mr. Hermawan Kartajaya Patron of AMF
In line with those changes, the name of APMF Foundation was also revised to AMF Foundation.

Fundamental Premises
As agreed in the discussions on the new AMF charter, it was formulated that the Federation shall operate based on fundamental premises as follows:
- The Federation is multi-national and multi-occupational. No one specific individual would be excluded by virtue of his or her race, color, culture, creed or legitimate occupational background be it business and industry, government, academic or profession
- The Federation shall not associate itself with any political activity or allow its funds to be used for political purposes
- The Federation's decision making process is consultative and consensus seekingThe Federation is policy-orientedThe Federation deals with issues professionally and in a pragmatic mannerThe Federation seeks to cooperate with other international, regional and local organizationsThe Federation works closely with its Foundation and other entities established by the Federation
- The Federation plays active roles in international marketing activities through the World Marketing Association.
- The Federation shall adhere to the principle of human rights and conduct its operation professionally and ethically
- The Federation shall support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges and promote greater environmental responsibility.

AMF Goals 2008-2010 and Key Initiatives
In AGM meeting in Manila, AMF has determined its Goal for 2008-2010 as follows:
Further raise AMF's profile in Asia and in the world stage by
- Strengthening further the institution
- Revitalizing AMF Foundation
- Participating in the United Nations Global Initiatives
In order to achieve the goals, the following key initiatives have been carried out:
Operational Activities
- Enhance Communication Capability by developing AMF Web as the basis of our regional communication. Project is under way (Champion - HKIM)
- Expanse country membership and enhance their roles. Vietnam was accepted as new member. Japan Marketing Association (JMA) has decided to take more active role. Cambodia also expressed interest to join. We encourage that China Marketing Association can also join in the near future. (Champion - All NMA's)
- Strengthen further CPM Deployment in all countries. All NMA's have put more focus on CPM implementation. New procedure established. With approval, NMA is permitted to hold local examination for all modules. However, for modules Asia Business and Asia Marketing Management still to be managed by MIS. Examination can be written in local language and country is responsible to translate the exam paper into English by official sworn translator. This has increased the interest of NMA especially the 'non-English speaking" countries (Champion - MIS)
- Manage relationship with WMA and Regional Assoc.(Champion - All NMA's and AMF Patron, Hermawan Kartajaya)
Special Projects
- Launch AMF Individual Fellowship program. Further discussion needed in order to launch this program (Champion - Sec General of AMF Foundation, Prof Hooi Den Huan)
- Launch Scholarship Program AMF-Kellogg. One sponsorship from Indonesia already accepted by Kellogg in 2009 (Champion - IMM)
- Bali 2010 Asia Marketing Conference. This conference will be conducted jointly with Asia Pacific Business Association and United Nations Global Compact Network Asia. The preparation is under way. This is a prestigious program and AMF has take lead in setting up this first ever joint program conducted. (Champion: AMF Patron and IMA)
- Establish specific community development initiatives (All NMA's)
Meetings (BoM, AGM), Seminar and Conference
Meetings have been conducted consistently, hosted by one of the AMF member (National Marketing Association - NMA) on rotational basis. The hosting country is responsible for all the expenses incurred during the meeting. The participating associations cover their own travel and hotel expenses. These activities actually have been going on over years during APMF period.

Minutes of the Meeting is disseminated by Secretary General to be disseminated to all members. Copies are available upon request.
The next meeting - Annual General Meeting (AGM) to be conducted in Bali 31 May - 2 Jun 2010. This meeting will be conducted together with "The First Asia Marketing Conference", an official AMF event to be held biennially at the end of the term as the final responsibility of the outgoing President.
As agreed in BoM meeting in Bangkok, JMA has been nominated as single candidate to take the lead for the next two-year-term (2010 - 2012). This will be finalized at the AGM meeting in Bali
Financial Matter
Currently all members contribute equally US$ 700 / year. No difference in amount whether a country sits as president or not.
The fund is deposited at the account of AMF Foundation in BCA Bank in Jakarta.
The use of the money requires prior approval by the board.
The balance as of 31 December 2009 is US$ 33,929,-
President's term and election
In accordance to the AMF Charter, the term of the President and the member of the Board of Directors shall in principle be of two years duration.
Y.W. Junardy was appointed in AGM Meeting in Manila on 21 June 2008. Hence, a new President will be elected in the AGM meeting in Bali on 2 June 2010.
